Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are The Redneck Games?
The Redneck Games are not your typical Rodeo or Playday. Our events are 2-person team events and are rarely if ever, seen at any other horse-based sporting event you will ever attend. Our events include obstacle courses that test our competitor’s horsemanship skills and working with a teammate. The crowds of spectators really get into the events and have a lot of fun, as the events are very out of the ordinary. In the past, we have only offered an open and youth division. However, in hopes of growing our participation, we will now offer an open, 13-18, and 12 & under division.

  • How did the Redneck Games get started?
The Redneck Games were originally started to buy needed supplies for the FFA Pivot Team, “The Red Riders.” The funds raised were used for purchasing matching tack and matching clothing during the first 4 years. In the past few years, the Red Riders pivot team was set up and only needed funding for repairs and replacements, so we decided to use this event to fund another great cause that we are VERY excited about. The proceeds from the event will go to a college scholarship fund. After the 2022 Redneck Games, proceeds have afforded us the opportunity to award $5,000 in scholarships to ten 2023 high school seniors. The Redneck Games are held on the first Saturday in July; based on previous years’ participation, large crowds are expected. Sponsoring The Redneck Games.

The Redneck Games are run by a small group of hardworking local folks who beat the bushes and run the roads searching for sponsors for each year’s games. Each year The Rednecks Games has grown in both participants and spectators.
